Exhibitions of PhD Students

The Doctoral School of the National University of Arts Bucharest organised at UNAgaleria a new edition of the exhibition with the artworks associated with the research activity of doctoral students. The exhibition is open at the Combinatul Fondului Plastic located in Băiculești Street, no. 29, sector 1, Bucharest and can be visited between 10th and 21st January 2024, from Wednesday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The closing of the Foto>Grafisme exhibition took place on Friday 14th July and was marked by an artist talk with Constantin Rusu who presented the artistic approach of the “Ekphrasis” project. The artist talk was succeeded by a visual-musical performance by Constantin Rusu, together with Mihai Pintenaru.

Mihaela Moțăianu and Constantin Rusu propose two perspectives of the visual sign. Foto>Grafisme was open at Galeria 15 Design, Hanul cu Tei, 63 Lipscani Street, between June 23rd and July 14th, 2023. Curator Associate Professor Marina Theodorescu.

The exhibition “PANTA RHEI” by Mihaela Moțăianu presents a kaleidoscope of moments that capture the flow of matter, the fluidity of walking and the traces of Time, seen as a transformation of the materiality of the World.

CRONOS exhibition, June 3rd – July 3rd, 2023, artists: Ana Roșoga and Marius Cristea, curator Mihai Plămădeală, Pitești Synagogue. Exhibition of object, installation, ready-made, found object, collage, drawing, painting, performance.

The exhibition “Image and Memory” presents artistic portfolios published in volume 3 of the international journal Design | Arts | Culture (DAC) edited by the Doctoral School. The exhibition also included the launch event of the publication.

Perianu Vlad-Dan’s exhibition, entitled Morphology of the coloured volume, opened at Simeza Gallery in April 2023, is a continuation of the one organized in December 2022, at C.A.V. Gallery and concludes his doctoral research.

The exhibition entitled Form and Colour, opened in December 2022, at the C.A.V. Gallery, by Perianu Vlad-Dan, PhD student, 3rd year, represented the first part of his doctoral research, bringing as novelty the relationship between volumetry, as a science, and the science of colours – chromatology.

As part of her personal exhibition, Confession, open from the 3rd of August to the 1st of September 2022 at the ETAJ artist-run space gallery, Ioana Aron presents installations that include scenographic elements, photo collage, video art, monoprint and painting.

Mihaela Moțăianu’s virtual exhibition was presented Wednesday, 29th June 2022, on the main page of the Romanian Cultural Institute website and the social networks pages of ICR Lisbon. The series of digital collages create a unique experience in the virtual space.

The National University of Arts Bucharest – Doctoral Studies, organised at UNAgaleria, from 27th June to 30th July 2022, is the end-of-year exhibition with the research works of doctoral students.

During 6-15.06.2022, the PhD students Maria Panțur, Ștefania Meșteriuc and Aurel Pătrăucean have exhibited a part of their doctoral research projects at the Galeria 15 Design.

Visual artist Vlad-Dan Perianu participates with an installation entitled “Sacrifice” at the National Village Museum Dimitrie Gusti in the annual event organized by the Association of Religious Fine Arts and Restoration.

HISTORICAL RECONSTRUCTIONS IN MINIATURE the personal exhibition of the scenographer Andrei Mențeanu opened between April 13th – May 13th 2022, at the Museum of History of Romania, Bucharest.

The Icehouse Gallery at the Culture Center Brâncoveneşti Palaces at the Gates of Bucharest hosted the exhibition Experiment. Techne. Imagination. the first personal Exhibition of Maria Panțur and curated by Ioana Stelea.

The work entitled “Flag for environment” (Drapel pentru Mediu) by Ileana Ștefănescu was exhibited at the National Salon of Contemporary Art 2021 edition. The work is part of a series of picto-object / environment works, part of personal doctoral research.

In the period 8-17 October 2021, it took place the exhibition ‘Upfold’ of the designer Alexe Popescu, within the 2021 Diploma Festival.

Vlad-Dan Perianu participated in a group exhibition organised by the Association of the Religious Fine Arts Branch, with three works that studied the volume-colour-kineticism relationship. The Phoenix Bird also integrates a mechanomorphic component, which helps develop the sculpture’s kineticism.

Open at Galeria 15 Design – Hanul cu Tei, in the period 20-31 August 2021, URBAN INSIGHTS brings together three different perspectives on the City approaching artistic research from a multi-directional perspective.
